According to Companies House there has been a rise in the number of companies formed and registered in October 2010. Experts believe that with government cuts and the manner in which recession affected employees psychologically as well as financially more people are opting to start their own enterprise. By being their own master these business owners are striving to gain control over their lives, something that was missing during the recession. In September it was reported that 2,643,377 companies were registered while at the end of October this number rose to 2,647,500. Interestingly there has been a fall in the number of publically listed companies.
