In a research study by the Trades Union Congress (TUC) it was revealed that home working has brought down travel time to a ten year low. It was found that workers on an average spend little over 47 minutes travelling to work. Calculating the figures based on information provided by the Labour Force Survey (LFS) it was found that about £339 million worth of working hours were spent travelling to the workplace and back. Home working saves the time and energy used in travelling and also increases productivity and performance. More over it increases worker satisfaction levels as they are able to find a work life balance. In an earlier poll 46% respondents had said they’d rather work from home
