Recently a survey by R3 revealed that business confidence has dampened and many firms report a loss of profit and a drop in sales. In order for SMEs to come out of this phase they need the help of the government. The help needs to come in the form of easier access to finance. SMEs need funds to invest in equipment and trained employees that are essential to gain new and better business contracts. Businesses also hope that the government will lift tax burden and reduce red tape. Only then can small businesses make the best of existing contracts and opportunities.
