A recent study indicated that businesses that continued marketing efforts during the recession have a stronger customer base as compared to those that didn’t. According to a survey by StrongMail, 93% of respondents said that in 2011 they will increase or at least maintain their marketing budgets. Businesses reported that they will focus their marketing efforts on e-mail marketing and social media campaigns. It is important for businesses to have a well developed social media strategy and follow it up by monitoring interaction with customers. Businesses also said that they intend to focus on Facebook and Twitter to promote their business and market it.
