With public sector cuts unemployment has been on the rise and it is hoped that the private sector will be able to create jobs. Reports indicate that a large number of people are choosing to start a business and in the long run would generate more employment. When a business is in its infancy it struggles to find its feet. Experts suggest that the government exempt start ups from employment laws for the first two years from inception. Employment laws pertaining to matters such as pension, maternity and paternity leave and flexible working can be a legislative and financial burden for start ups. It would also deter entrepreneurs from hiring more workers.
