For any company its business information pertaining to every process including contracts, payments and order is crucial. If such information is lost due to a computer outage the business would be left paralysed. It is important for SMEs to have a clear data recovery plan in place to avoid such a situation. According to a study by Symantec about 41% of respondents did not have a disaster recovery plan in place and 40% said that it was not a priority. Only about 50% businesses reported to back up their data on a weekly basis and 23% did so daily. It is important for SMEs to protect their business data and to do so a data recovery plan is essential.
