While the leading banks of UK have pledged millions to the small business sector, there is little that is tricking down to the SMEs. Negotiations are on between the government and the banks. The management of the banks are concerned about lending to businesses that they consider weak and are concerned for their shareholders. The small and medium sized businesses require funding to make certain the viability of their business. The SME sector contributes greatly towards the country’s economic growth. It will be unable to offer more employment opportunities if it doesn’t have access to loans and funding.
